This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Yvan Cournoyer, Serge Savard and Steve Shutt gamers and a Guy Lafleur game-issued stick are featured in this lot of seven 1970s and early 1980s Montreal Canadiens sticks. Peter Mahovlich, Pierre Mondou and Keith Acton sticks are also included. Please see our website description for more information and photos. “Y. Cournoyer” is stamped on the blade of the Roadrunner’s solid Canadien gamer with his white tape knob intact, the rainbow factory tape band low on the shaft and Cournoyer’s distinctive twist-curve straight blade, which had the tape removed and displays a scraped bottom edge towards the toe;
“Savard” is stamped on the shaft of Savard’s Canadien gamer with “1” and “8” for his number 18 written in blue marker above and below his surname. The Senator’s white grip tape handle remains on the knob and his black tape job on the blade has worn through the bottom edge which has cracks at the heel and near the toe on this otherwise solid stick;
“Shutt 22” is stamped on shaft of Shutt’s Sher-Wood PMP 5030 gamer, which retains his black tape job on the knob and has a retaped blade, which has several cracks running the length of blade along the worn-through bottom edge;
Guy Lafleur game-issued Sher-Wood PMP 5030 has “Flower 10” stamped on the shaft and no tape on the knob or blade;
“Acton 12” is stamped on Acton’s Sher-Wood PMP 5030 gamer which has a wrap of white tape on the knob and a black tape job on the blade that remains smooth on this crack-free beauty of an early 1980s Canadiens gamer;
Peter Mahovlich game-issued Sher-Wood PMP 5052 has “20 Mahovlich P.” stamped on its weathered shaft;
Pierre Mondou’s Victoriaville Pro Model game-issued stick has “6 P. Mondou” stamped on the shaft.
