One in a long line of noble Montreal team captains to contribute monumental effort to the Canadiens' cause during his memorable 16-year career, Bob Gainey helped the Habs to five Stanley Cup titles while combining amazing defensive play with 239 career goals. From the latter stages of his Hall of Fame career and after he captained the Habs to their unlikely Cup win in 1986, this white knit jersey worn at the Forum exhibits significant game use. Some 10 bullet-style team repairs on each sleeve, three on the front and two on the back are joined by a dozen red paint transfers and a few black stick marks. No longer tagged in the collar, the jersey also features nice interior pilling at the inner sleeves and behind the fight strap. Gainey's "C" rests up on the left breast in tri-color tackle twill and his name crosses a stunted plate on the back above his number "23". Donned by one of the most respected of all!
