Jacques Plante, who starred for many years in the uniform of the Montreal Canadiens, was a quirky and innovative netminder who often drove fans berserk with his unique and risky playing style. Offered is Jacque's classic Canadiens jacket, worn proudly by the Hall-of-Fame goalie at a time when Montreal was icing a record-setting team and enjoying a Stanley Cup parade each spring. Red cotton jacket is reversible with identical chenille and felt patches on each side which read "Canadiens NHL". The similar chenille number "1" sits on the right arm. With red-white-and-blue elastic cuffs, collar and waist, the jacket is in excellent condition with fraying at the cuffs. The white metal snaps show very little scratching and the piece is very presentable. The included caramel-colored bar mask was manufactured in the 1960s by Jacques Plante's Fibrosport company and was the company's first model it ever made. The mask has survived in formidable condition and comes complete with interior padding and the original Winn Well strapping. The striking mask remains rock solid with no apparent cracks and will be an awesome addition to your Plante/mask shrine.
