Pale ballpoint text below the knob of this fantastic game used stick reads, in French: "523 but, A mon ami Gilles de Maurice Richard", which translates to: "523rd goal, To my friend Gilles from Maurice Richard". The handwriting tells the tale! This wondrous gamer launched the puck that found the twine at the back of the net to mark the great Maurice Richard's 523rd career goal. Rocket's twig is a CCM Pattern Made Professional with "M. Richard" and number "9" stamped high up on the shaft. Heavy black tape can be found forming the knob and wrapping the lengthy blade. A couple of wraps are now missing from the very tip and a small square section of tape is gone from one side of the blade. Great game wear with dozens of stick and puck marks on this one with just a slight age crack running in from the blade tip. The autograph and notations are quite light but the stick is strong and steeped in history!
