Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Regarded by collectors as the most attractive ring ever produced for a Grey Cup winner, this real player's ring was awarded to a member of the victorious BC Lions in 2006. Five football-shaped stones rise up out of sculpted Grey Cups behind the raised gold lion head at the pinnacle. The words "Grey Cup" and "Champions" are above and below. The shoulders are decorated with 38 smaller CZ stones and each shank is masterfully sculpted including a very intricate cityscape scene. The ring weighs a hefty 60 grams of 10 karat gold and is made to fit a finger size 11.5. The interior of the band holds the inspirational words "Reason and Purpose" and displays the Intergold hallmark along with the assayer's marking on the gold content. Presented to Wide Receiver Josh Boden, a member of the practice roster in 2006 who cracked the starting lineup in 2007 with the Lions. All members of the practice roster received rings made with man-made stones in lieu of diamonds.
