Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

A rare find indeed, this sensational French language CCM advertising display features a vintage team photo of the 1933-34 Montreal Canadiens. Howie Morenz and Aur?le Joliat are pictured on either side of goalie Lorne Chabot seated in the front row of this weathered and creased 7 1/2" x 9 3/4" original print. Vintate team photo featuring the names of the Habs players listed along the bottom remains mostly glued in place in its original setting in the upper middle of the display. A player bearing the Canadiens' familiar red-white-and-blue uniform appears on the left side of this colorful 14 1/2" x 21 1/2" in-store "Les Patins CCM Sont Champions Partout" advertising display. This scarcely-seen 1930s sign remains mostly intact, with a 1 1/4" x 3" section of the lower right corner cut off. The easel on the reverse is missing and pin holes and wear/cracks in the corners and along the edges are also to note. Soiling on the surface is more pronounced on the left side. Overall, this rare piece remains an outstanding collector's item and a great vintage hockey display.
