Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

A Stanley Cup winner with Calgary in 1989, goalie Mike Vernon hoped to achieve the same success with the Detroit Red Wings in 1994-95. The Red Wings went 33-11-4 during the strike-shortened season and lost just two games through the first three rounds of the playoffs as they beat Dallas, San Jose and Chicago to reach the Stanley Cup finals for the first time since 1966. Osgood used this white Cooper goalie stick with red lettering which has been signed by him and other members of that season's Red Wings team, including Yzerman, Fedorov, Ciccarelli, Mark Howe, Draper, Rouse and Burr. This gorgeous goalie's stick is a great Red Wings collectors item for a team that was on the cusp of returning to Stanley Cup glory.
