Atlanta Thrashers gamer was worn by Richard Smehlik during the 2002-03 season, the last season NHL teams wore their white jerseys for home games. Size 56 “Made in Canada” Canadian flag fly tag remains in the neck of this Thrashers third season set gamer with an intact fight strap. NHL/MeiGray Game-Worn 2002-2003 Season” patch is sewn inside the rear hem. Smehlik signed with Atlanta as a free agent after nine seasons in Buffalo. The Czech defenseman had 11 points in 43 games with the Thrashers before he was traded to New Jersey late in the season. Light game wear to report includes what are likely tiny bloodstains on the front of the jersey and unidentified stains on the back of the left elbow. Comes with a MeiGray LOA which states that the jersey was part of the Thrashers’ third set of the 2002-03 season.
