Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Peter Forsberg is the real deal. Considered one of the best passers in the game, his 19-year professional career includes 13 years in the National Hockey League where he won two Stanley Cups with the Colorado Avalanche, as well as numerous individual honors including the prestigious Hart Memorial Trophy in 2003. Peter got off to a good start in 1994-95 as a member of the Quebec Nordiques. His rookie year was cut short by the strike but he still scored 50 points (15 goals and 35 assists) in 47 games, including a 14-game run in which he scored 26 points and was second in scoring for the Nordiques behind Joe Sakic. This wonderful rookie jersey, worn by Peter in 1994-95 is a CCM knit, tagged in the collar by Maska with a size 56 fly tag. Everything is sewn on including the crest and fleur-de-lis ringing the waist. Peter has added a bold, black marker signature across the back numbers, adding his player number below. Wear is heavy with hundreds of smaller stick marks, scrapes and spots of board paint transfer. We also note areas of light blood staining. Included is a DVD of the 1994-95 Quarterfinals that shows a possible video-match. A good close-up of Peter on bench spots a mark on left shoulder and another mark near top of the number "2" on sleeve that appears to be also here on this shirt. We will let you decide. Sweet!
