Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
A rare and desirable style, this yellow mesh alternate Pittsburgh Penguins uniform is what hobbyists call the "Sunday" jersey. The style was worn at home occasionally in 1981-82 and 1982-83 and then it became their home uniform for the 1983-84 season. The color was retired for the start of the 1984-85 campaign. This one, worn by Pat Boutette, is a Sandow-made mesh with their logo on the rear hem and the twin tags up in the collar in size XL. The numbers and skating penguin crest are all heat-pressed. The two-tone tackle twill letters appear to cross an original plate and the shirt displays light game wear with about 15 smaller stick marks and scuffs.
