Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Highly sought-after V-style Canucks uniform worn during the very early-1980s by scrappy defenseman Harold Snepsts who toiled over nine seasons in Vancouver from 1975 through 1984 before returning to the Canucks towards the end of his career. Collectors clamber over each other for the opportunity to obtain one of these rare shirts and once they get snapped up you rarely see them on the market again. Harold's black mesh Sandow jersey displays his number "27" on the back and cuffs with yellow/orange/black Canucks skate logo crest decorating each upper arm. This one has the original name plate with orange tackle twill lettering and a faded double Sandow tag in the collar. What a heavy shirt... it must have been a chore to play in these! Game wear, although hard to spot on this black material, is very evident and those board burns do show up well and stick marks appear in the yellow and orange accents. Also of note is a large unrepaired tear in the right elbow.
