Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Striking Broadway-blue uniform of the New York Rangers worn by longtime NHLer Bob Nevin mid-way through his 19-season NHL career. The shirt, now missing the expected Gerry Cosby tag, is difficult to pinpoint to a specific year but it is certainly from the mid to late Sixties. "Rangers" runs diagonally down the chest in drop shadow lettering with Bob's number "8" on the back and sleeves. Vintage tie-neck styling with original string. The lone label that does remain in the tail indicates a size "48" and diamond-shaped inserts at both underarms appear to be a cotton blend, differing in appearance from the rest of the uniform. The jersey has been well washed and worn with at least 17 beefy team repair patches. An amazing expansion-era example.
