Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
The actor portraying Rangers Hall-of-Famer Bill Gadsby during the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's 1995 docu-drama "Net Worth" wore this marvelous old-style woolen sweater in scenes set during the 1956 NHL All Star Game. The film was an authentic look back at the 1950's attempt to form an NHL players union headed by Ted Lindsay and the wardrobe crew went to great lengths to capture that "original six" look and feel. From the felt NHL shield crest at the chest to the ten individually-attached stars and two-tone number "16" on the back, the sweater is a work of art! Will come with a letter of authenticity.
