This massive international hockey lot features IIHF world championship medals - including 6 golds - and game-used equipment from the personal collection of Soviet defenseman Vasily Pervukhin. A participant in each of the U.S.S.R.'s three Canada Cup appearances in the 1980s, including the Soviets' 1981 title, Pervukhin amassed an incredible haul of international hockey gold during his lengthy career with the powerhouse squad which dominated the world stage throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Included here are Vasily's 9 Soviet Union world championship medals, featuring a total of 6 golds. Pervukhin and his CCCP teammates stood on the top podium 6 times in 9 appearances at the worlds between 1977-87, including 5 straight gold medal wins from 1978-83. Pervukhin claimed his final WC gold in Moscow in 1986. Also included are a silver medal from Pervukhin's final WC in 1987 and a pair of bronzes, including his WC debut in 1977. All nine medals remain in excellent-plus condition and have their distinctive yellow-and-blue ribbons. Each medal measures 2 3/4" in diameter and all have the year on the clasp at the top of the medal except Pervukhin's 1977 bronze medal. Also included are Vasily's collection of 9 IIHF European championship medals, 8 of which are gold; his 1975 IIHF junior European championship gold; his 1977 European Championship bronze; his bronze medal from the 1974-75 world junior championship in Winnipeg; and his 9 Izvestia tournament medals, include 8 golds and 1 silver. Vasily says that his game-used CCM Super Tacks skates and Jofa shoulder pads are from the 1980 Winter Olympic tournament in Lake Placid, along with his Adidas "CCCP" jacket with a size L fly tag in the neck. Pervukhin's 1980 Olympics photo ID pass features his ballpoint signature on the reverse. Also included here are Pervukhin's game-used red Jofa helmet, a 1981 Canada Cup paperweight, a total of 16 commemorative silver hockey coins housed in a coin book with individual plastic pockets, his photo I.D. pass from the pre-Olympic 1988 Calgary Cup and Calgary Cup silver medal in its Birks box, a pair of 1972 Sapporo Olympics commemorative medals - one in silver, the other in copper, and four Japanese hockey championship medals - including three golds and one silver - from his work with the team after his playing career.
