Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Great gathering of mementos recalls the excitement surrounding the 1972 Summit Series pitting the best Canadian talent against the previously-unknown stars of the Soviet Union. The lot begins with a "Go Canada" postcard featuring an action scene, unused and in near excellent condition, and a fold-out series schedule and scoring record put out by TD Bank (NM). Next, a scarce ticket stub to the Sept. 8th match between Canada and the USSR at Vancouver Coliseum, a game that ended with Phil Esposito's passionate plea to fans across the country. The stub is in nice shape with a single crease through the center. Finally, the official game program for the matches played on Canadian soil, in rougher condition, but signed across the cover by hockey greats John Ferguson, Bobby Hull and deceased Hall-of-Famers Clarence Campbell and Foster Hewitt!
