Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Signet style rings like this one featuring the incomparable Maurice "Rocket" Richard are forever in demand and oh-so-coveted. It was in 1949 that the makers of Bee Hive corn syrup introduced these premiums which were available for a couple of years through a mail-in offer. They were made to fit any finger and pictured various NHL stars under a clear plastic dome. You will likely agree that a "Rocket" Richard example is the most prized possession among those offered! This gilt-lacquered treasure includes a raised image of the Stanley Cup on one side, with "NHL", crossed hockey sticks and a puck on the other. Wear on the face of the plastic dome obsures a direct look at the right eye of Richard, who is pictured in slicked-back hair. Also to note are light staining at the top of the photo and a few scratches on the plastic. If one of these beauties has eluded you over the years, now is your chance.
