Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Tremendously eye-appealing and an all-time hobby favorite is the Topps company's initial hockey issue due to its vibrant red, white and blue colors, with this group bound to interest enthusiasts of higher grade material. Although "biggies" Howe and Sawchuk are not present, the majority of the lot looks to the naked eye to be in sharp near mint-or-better condition. Four of the key cards have been graded by PSA, with Gump Worsley leading the way at NM-MT 8 (OC), followed by Ted Lindsay at NM 7. Alex Delvecchio has been deemed EX-MT 6, with card #1-Dick Gamble at EX 5. Lightly creased up-gradable VG+ exceptions are #s 4-Wilson, 21-Toppazzini, 29-Mickowski, 31-Ferguson and 59-Bonin, with 60-Schmidt warped and no better than VG. A tiny prick mark to the left of Bathgate's face is also to note, but overall mighty nice and surely in the 6 to 8 range in the eyes of the pro graders. Lots of possibilities here!
