Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
An obvious prerequisite to any important vintage hockey card collection is Imperial Tobacco's inaugural issue, the coveted C56 set of 1910-11. Including some of the biggest stars of the pre-NHL era, the near set here is on the lower end of the grading scale, but still desirable. Hardly any paper loss front or back, with the condition lowdown as follows: 2-Lesueur and 5-Glass are crease-free and in the VG+ or VG-EX neighborhood. At VG are 4-Holden, 7-Walsh, 13-Decary, 14-Dunderdale, 34-Ridpath and 35-Marshall. G-VG are 3-Roberts, 20-Russell, 28-Moran. Biggest names are 1-F. Patrick (big "C" penned on back), 26-L. Patrick and 36-Lalonde (the latter two with multiple creases and minor paper loss), and all no better than F. Remainder are P-F-G, while missing are #s 8, 12, 15, 16, 17, 23, 29.
