Ending off our splendid group of 1939-40 and ’40-41 O-Pee-Chee card lots is this batch of eight from the company’s sepia-tone 50-card ’40-41 issue. Leading the ensemble off both numerically and from a rankings standpoint is #104-Jack Adams RC which joins two other similar examples as the highest Adams rookies ever graded by PSA at EX 5. Johnny Quilty’s RC (#106) came in at EX+ 5.5 and just shy of the highest PSA-graded (EX-MT 6) Quilty. The Leafs’ Billy Taylor (#107) at VG-EX+ 4.5 is second only to one other, while 113-Gus Marker is tied for first place with one other EX 5 example. The Canadiens’ Alex Singbush RC (#114) at EX+ 5.5 is just edged out by an EX-MT 6 for highest ever by PSA, while fellow Hab Joe Benoit RC (#121) at EX 5 similarly has only one other example higher. The Bruins are represented here by 126-Jack Schewchuk RC, the EX 5 grade it received ranking it in a second place tie behind an almost unheard of PSA 8. Completing the lot is a Good 2 card of 140-Red Heron. Low pops and impressive big holders here (they're great to hold!) should entice several vintage card enthusiasts.
