Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
The cards of four men who all left their mark on the hockey world and who have been recognized with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame make up this interesting lot, issued by the O-Pee-Chee company in 1939-40. The first player to skate for 20 NHL seasons, Boston legend Dit Clapper leads the way, his card #95 having been encapsulated at VG-EX 4 by PSA. The other three cards all came in at VG-EX+ 4.5. Hooley Smith (#17) is pictured late in his career and with the New York Americans, while Harvey "Busher" Jackson (#20) is in suit and tie and likewise a member of the Americans at the time. Completing things is Marty Barty (#57), better known for his years with the Bruins and Red Wings, but appearing here with the Canadiens, the team he wound up his career with in this ’39-40 season. Good opportunity to pick up four with one swoop.
