Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
A true ice king was Frank "King" Clancy, with a classic pose of the legendary defenseman on this big premium photo card available during the 1933-34 hockey season. The fact that one would have to accumulate 50 wrappers and one premium wrapper to be able to send away for one of six premium cards might explain their scarcity. Gorgeous 7" by 9" thick cardboard affair displays much better than its technical VG grade. A light 2-inch crease rises up from the bottom border to attain the lower shaft of the stick, with a half-inch crease in the right border and just below that small spot of paper loss. Slightly dinged lower corners are also to mention, along with the fact that these do not turn up all that often in any condition.
