Stirring image here of Hall-of-Famer Bruce Stuart is on Sweet Caporal postcard #15 in the coveted and rare "Prominent Canadian Hockey Players" set, a 45-card affair which is the envy of all well-informed vintage card enthusiasts. At VG-EX 4, this example is just a tad below the highest Stuart ever graded (4.5) by PSA. Ottawa-born Stuart excelled at rover in seven-man hockey and first won the Stanley Cup with the Montreal Wanderers in 1907-08. He helped the Senators to a Cup triumph in 1908-09 and was captain of the Ottawa team that reclaimed Lord Stanley’s silverware in the spring of 1911. In his three Cup victories, Stuart scored 17 times in seven games, helping him secure a spot in hockey’s shrine.
