This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Deceased HOFer Jacques Plante’s vintage signature appears both on the back of his St. Louis Blues postcard and his personal Fibrosport business card. A Plante Toronto Maple Leafs postcard is also included in this collection of signed pieces featuring the original autographs of Bobby Orr and Gordie Howe. Orr has signed a 6 ¾” x 3 ¼” photo and Howe has added the dedication “Hello Robert” to his vintage blue ballpoint signature on a 10” x 8” Eaton’s photo with a vertical crease through the middle that barely touches the end of his autograph. Mr. Hockey’s personalized signature also appears on 2 of 3 of his 5 ½” x 3 ½” Eaton’s cards. Yvan Cournoyer’s signed Labatt’s card comes with its original 1969 envelope and letter. Maurice Richard has signed two of his fishing line postcards and little brother Henri has signed two versions of his Canadiens postcards. Jean Beliveau has also autographed a pair of Habs postcards, while individual cards are signed by J.C. Tremblay, Gump Worsley and Bobby Rousseau. Rogie Vachon’s ballpoint signature appears on the bottom of his fan club card. HOFers Bower & Keon have signed Maple Leafs postcards, with others signed by Chicago HOFer Tony Esposito, Pittsburgh’s Les Binkley and Oakland’s Gary Smith. Johnny Bucyk has signed his Mattel Wizzzer card, John McKenzie has signed a folded piece of paper, Doug Rogers has signed his judo photo and CFLer Jim Silye has signed an autograph book page. A couple of dozen unsigned postcards and vintage magazines round out the lot.
