Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
It is hard to describe the degree of affection Philadelphia Flyers fans felt for Pelle Lindbergh. The young Swedish goalie stepped up in the early-1980s to fill the void in front of the Spectrum net not long after Bernie Parent's Hall of Fame career was cut short by an eye injury. Lindbergh quickly became a fan favorite among the Flyers faithful. This autographed framed display presents a series of matted mementos including a Flyers pin, a 1985 Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 10 stub, a Lindbergh O-Pee-Chee card, an 8 x 10 action photo and another smaller pic of Pelle receiving the Vezina trophy. Best is a page taken from the team's 1982-83 media guide signed across the middle by Lindbergh in confident black ballpoint ink. A descriptive plaque at the middle finishes off the darling display. 22" x 24".
