Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Chicago Black Hawks collectors will go crazy for this section of boards from the original Madhouse on Madison! This incredibly heavy Chicago Stadium souvenir is part of the boards which were installed in the late 1960s and remained in place surrounding the rink until the old barn closed at the end of the 1993-94 season. This door panel measures 38 1/2" long and 37" tall. The boards are 1" thick, with white plastic covering plywood. The boards, which have a 4" tall yellow plastic dasher panel along the bottom, are mounted on a solid steel frame, with a pair of 40" long steel bars each along the top and bottom, and two more pairs of steel bars, all four measuring 31" tall, bracing the frame vertically. The horizontal steel bars extend beyond one end of the frame, where they were mounted on hinges. The opposite end has a red plastic and grooved wood edge where the door closed. The winner of this unique and extremely heavy lot will need to make special shipping arrangements or pick up.
