Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1965, Mosienko was a member of the Pony Line with brothers Max and Doug Bentley, though he is best remembered for having scored the fastest hat trick in NHL history. On March 23, 1952, the Black Hawks captain scored three goals within 21 seconds against New York's Lorne Anderson. A portrait of a young Mosienko in his Black Hawks sweater is a highlight of this lot of 16 photos obtained from the Mosienko family. There is a studio portrait of him in formal wear stamped J. Klein, in Winnipeg. Two informal snapshots of Mosienko are included with the hockey star wearing a fedora along with his Black Hawks jacket. A hand-labeled snapshot identifies Alex Shibicky, a member of the 1939-40 Stanley Cup champion New York Rangers along with a group of vintage outdoor rink shots from the late-1940s. The photos come with a signed LOA from the Mosienko family.
