Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Wondrous white durene Chicago Black Hawks game jersey attributed to the "Golden Jet", Bobby Hull. The uniform was given, and described as a game-worn Bobby Hull jersey, to a close family friend of Hull's who later passed it on to his daughter, our consignor. This vintage knit began as a number "28" uniform, according to thread lines apparent on the back and arms and later the numbers were removed and replaced with single-layer tackle-twill number nines. Tagged in the neck by Gunzo's of Berwyn with a General Athletic label in the lower seam, the shirt shows evidence of light game use with a number of stick marks and lighter blood stains in a few areas. The jersey appears to be from about 1969-70 and is the correct size for a Bobby Hull gamer but we have not been able to determine conclusively from photographic evidence that it was ever worn by Bobby. Regardless, it remains a vintage game-worn Black Hawks uniform, gifted by Bobby Hull who presented it as one of his game jerseys. Will come with a copy of a detailed letter of authenticity, signed at the bottom by Bobby Hull who acknowledges and confirms that he did gift this sweater, a Winnipeg Jets game-worn jersey and his bronzed 599th NHL goal puck to the father-in-law of our consigner. With additional letter of provenance from the consigner. Also included is a vintage, framed Sports Illustration cover featuring Bobby with a salutation to the family of the consignor, signed below by Hull.
