Mel "Sudden Death" Hill earned his nickname when he scored three overtime goals in the Boston Bruins' win over the New York Rangers in the first round of the 1939 playoffs. Hill added two more goals in the finals as the Bruins downed the Toronto Maple Leafs to claim Boston's second Stanley Cup. This photo and facsimile autographed tribute display of the 1938-39 Stanley Cup champion Bruins is presented in a 14" x 21" wood frame that features a listing of the season standings and playoff scores. Team stars Milt Schmidt and Woody Dumart are presented in this collage together with Brimsek, Shore, Clapper, Weiland, Cowley, Dumart, Schmidt, Bauer, Hill and the rest of the team. A title at the top reads "1938-39 Worlds Champions and National Hockey League Champions, Winners of the Stanley Cup and Prince of Wales Trophy". In very good to excellent condition with some creasing to note.
