Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010

Phil Esposito's original tape job remains intact on his game-used Northland stick from the latter stages of his Hall of Fame career. One of only six members of the NHL's 700-goal club, Esposito's 717 regular season goals rank fifth on the all-time list, behind only Gretzky, Howe, Brett Hull and Dionne. This Northland gamer retains Espo's black bulldog tape job on the blade and his white tape knob. "77", Phil's number with the New York Rangers, is written in black marker below it along with a faded "Esposito" factory stamp. A faint "095" is discernible as part of the pattern number stamped on the front of the shaft. A small sliver has chipped off the back edge of the heel and another chip on the top of the blade is to note. Otherwise, this game-used Esposito stick exhibits nice use and makes a superb display piece from one of the greatest goal scorers in hockey history.
