Hall of Fame right wing Rod Gilbert's vintage signature appears on both his official NHL goal puck and the accompanying registration certificate from the league's short-lived Goal-Puck program in the mid-1970s. Gilbert has signed in blue ballpoint on the bottom of the round "NHL Goal Puck" label placed on the reverse of the puck, which features a rubberized Rangers logo on the face and comes along with a display case. The cracked, but intact, label has "Rod Gilbert, New York Rangers" typewritten in the "Scorer" and "Team" fields, while the typing in the "Date" and "No." fields are faded but correspond to "March 6, 1974" and "NYR-2-243" on the "NHL Goal Puck Registration Certificate" made out to "Greg Chase" which accompanies the goal puck. Rod has personalized his signature, "To Greg, Thanks for your support, Rod Gilbert" in the upper right corner of the certificate which indicates that Vic Hadfield and Gilles Marotte assisted on Gilbert's 25th goal of the season - the 294th of his career - 16:11 into the second period of the Blueshirts' game against Montreal at Madison Square Garden, a 9-2 win for New York. A great opportunity to add one of these unique NHL Goal-Pucks complete with its original league-issued certificate.
