Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Historic Stanley Cup playoff memorabilia here is from the longest game in history up until that point as the Bruins and Maple Leafs played the deciding game of their best-of-five semi-final. It is said that NHL president Frank Calder offered to flip a coin after the fourth overtime period, with Boston agreeing but Toronto saying no way! The Leafs' Ken Doraty finally ended it five minutes into the sixth OT period, sending Toronto to the Cup finals and the crowd home at 2 a.m. Odd lacrosse cover includes the April 3, 1933 date in pencil, while the 72-page VG publication has no markings, a detached line-up page and smashing caricatures of all Leafs. Oh yeah, the game ended 1-0!
