Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Jacques Plante is among the 18 members of the 1970-71 Toronto Maple Leafs who have signed the deceased Hall of Famer's game-used Sherbrooke goalie stick in a mix of green and black marker autographs. Plante and fellow Hall of Fame goalie Bernie Parent have each signed in green just below Jake the Snake's original tape job on the knob which leaves only "J P" visible where Plante's name is stamped on the front of the top of the shaft, which has "Maple Leafs" stamped on it further down. Henderson, Harrison, McKenny, Dorey, Ley, Baun, Selwood, Glennie and Dupere are among the other Leafs who have signed this Plante game-used beauty which retains his black bulldog tape job on the blade and paddle. Some signatures are faded but Plante and Parent autographs are nice and very legible. A great souvenir featuring the original signatures of two of the greatest goalies ever.
