Truly touching dedication on this remarkable signed Ken Dryden game-used Canadian goalie stick from the 1976-77 season. Ken has placed the date "Nov 17/76" and the dedication "To Brian" in ballpoint just beneath his well-worn tape job with a wide knob at the top of the handle. "Ken Dryden" is factory-stamped in blue beneath it with the rest of Dryden's hand-written dedication which reads, "I'm afraid one too many got by this stick! Your friend, Ken Dryden, TORONTO 1, MONTREAL 0" along the shaft. Lanny McDonald scored the only goal of the game in the first, Mike Palmateer got the shutout and the Maple Leafs handed the Canadiens one of only eight regular season losses. Dryden, who had tied Jacques Plante's team record with 42 wins in 1975-76 while posting a career-best 2.03 goals-against-average, helped lead Montreal to an incredible 60-8-12 mark for an NHL record 132 points. This superb Dryden gamer from the Canadiens' greatest season exhibits nice game use and retains Ken's original white tape job on the blade. Included are two letters dated December 6th, 1976 from the Silent Voice charity about the stick, one to a Toronto radio station and another addressed to Dryden informing him that the stick's recipient had passed away but not before the Hall of Fame goalie's stick had contributed "some minutes of joy and happiness to his world."
