Truly exquisite and very rare original Rice Studios framed team photo montage commemorates the 1926 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Maroons, the last NHL team to face another league's team for the Cup. Clint Benedict recorded three shutouts as the Maroons beat WHL champions Victoria 3 games to 1 to become the first team to win the Stanley Cup at the Montreal Forum. Nels Stewart accounted for 6 of the 10 goals scored in the Cup final by the Maroons, who totaled seven HOFers, including Reg Noble, Babe Siebert, Punch Broadbent, manager Eddie Gerard and director Donat Raymond. A total of 14 1/4" x 19 1/4" of this magnificent Rice Studio print is displayed within the beige matte surrounding this magnificent framed montage featuring artwork with images of the Stanley Cup, Prince of Wales Trophy and O'Brien Cup and the Maroon's "M" logo serving as a backdrop for the 18 individual portraits of the Cup champions' players, staff and management, including Maroons captain Dunc Munro and team president James Strachan. Displayed in its original 26 1/2" x 30 1/2" wood frame, this historic Montreal Maroons 1925-26 Stanley Cup champions Rice Studios photo montage is an extraordinary piece that will appeal to a wide range of collectors.
