This sensational original Rice Studios photo montage depicts the 1899-1900 Stanley Cup champions Montreal Shamrocks. Team captain Harry Trihey led his team to the CAHL title with 17 goals in seven games. The Shamrocks staged a successful Cup defense against Winnipeg in February before holding off Halifax's challenge the following month. Tansey, Scanlan, Farrell and McKenna flank Trihey in individual oval portraits at the top of the team photo montage, with images of Wall and Brannen in uniform on the sides and oval photos of Brennon and Hoerner on the bottom, all surrounding photos of Shamrocks executives. The bottom of the montage features fantastic interior and exterior shots of the brand new Westmount Arena between a shamrock displaying the team's awards - including the coveted Stanley Cup. This outstanding 16 1/2" x 12" original studio print is in very good condition overall, with some discoloration at the very top and a horizontal band through the middle of the image to note, along with a small gash through the print and its backing above Trihey and Scanlan, to the left of the club's winged foot logo. A beige matte outlines the original "Champions of Canada 1899 - 1900" caption beneath the montage which is presented in a 27 1/2" x 21 1/2" wood frame. A remarkable Stanley Cup team photo awaits the winning bid!
