Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Typically a family event, or perhaps the perfect first date, strapping on a pair of ice skates at the town pond was a common winter scene even before the game of ice hockey took root. These two sets of ancient ice skates dates back to the 1800s and one of the pairs sports dramatic sleigh-style runners that curl right back to your boot. Although the straps have been misplaced, they are still presentable and attractive. The second pair features unique brass blades with large mounting screws poking through at the heel section. Again, the straps are missing on this pair and both sets of vintage ice skates measure about 12" in length.
