Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
A five-time Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens, Hall-of-Famer Steve Shutt scored 424 goals during his 13-year career with Montreal and Los Angeles. Shutt's 60 goals in 1976-77 established an NHL record for left wingers that has been surpassed only by Luc Robitaille and Alexander Ovechkin. Offered here is one of Steve's Sher-Wood game-used sticks from late in his career with the Canadiens. Featuring a Jan 1983 date stamp on the back of the shaft, this Shutt gamer retains his original thin band of black bulldog tape on the blade, as well as his tape job with a tiny knob on the butt end. "Shutt 22" is stamped on the shaft of this beauty which remains in outstanding condition. A fitting display piece to add to your Canadiens/Hall of Fame stick collection.
