Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
On the night of December 22, 1996, sniper and current hockey Hall-of-Famer Brett Hull found the twine past Kings netminder Stéphane Fiset to register his 500th career goal in the National Hockey League. Joining his father Bobby as the only father/son team to accomplish the feat, Brett Hull would go on to finish his career sitting at 3rd on the league's all-time scoring list. This Easton Ultra AG 6000 was handled by Hull in his milestone game and although it is an important find, it is not the stick used to score the historic goal. That one rests in Brett's personal collection. Hull added a significant signature down near the blade with "Game-Used 500th Goal - 12/22/96" in blue marker. The twig is fully taped at the blade and handle and shows light game use. Also included in the lot is a photo-copied game sheet from the milestone game, also signed by Brett Hull. The collection will come with a detailed letter of provenance from the consignor who obtained the stick directly from Brett Hull following the memorable game.
