Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Carl Brewer is among the 21 members of the 1966-67 edition of Canada's national hockey team who have signed Gary Begg's game-used stick. Brewer, a three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Toronto Maple Leafs, was a member of the Canadian team which won bronze at the 1967 world championships in Vienna, playing alongside future and former NHLers such as Gary Dineen, Jack Bownass, Bill MacMillan, Morris Mott, Fran Huck, Danny O'Shea, Wayne Stephenson, Ken Broderick, Marshall Johnston, Jean Cusson, Barry MacKenzie and coach Jack McLeod. All have signed in blue ink on one side of the shaft along with Begg, Paul Conlin, Ray Cadieux, Duane McPhail, Terry O'Malley, Roger Bourbonnais, and Ted Hargreaves, who played one WHA season with the Winnipeg Jets. Begg's CCM Custom Pro retains its original tape jobs, with a white tape knob on the butt end and black bulldog tape around the straight blade. A large team photo postcard signed by Bill Hunter and mailed from Vienna on March 20, 1967 accompanies this lot.
