The toast of town in Whitby, Ontario, the senior hockey "Dunlops" became the toast of an entire nation when they represented Canada at the 1958 World Championships and came home "on top of the world" after remarkably beating all opposition. From the collection of assistant manager Wally Brabin comes this sensational ensemble, highlighted by two team-signed sticks and two big (approx. 11" by 18") impressive plaques. One is for the 1956 OHA Senior B provincial title, while the other includes "Presented by Town of Whitby" and "World Champions - Oslo, Norway 1958." Players, coaches and executives' names appear on each, while autographs spotted on the sticks include those of general manager Wren Blair, team captain Harry Sinden, Sid Smith, Charlie Burns, Connie Broden, Bobby Attersley, John Henderson, Gord Myles, Frank Bonnello and others. Nineteen sigs on one and 23 on the other. Also included are two different team photos, a greeting-like card picturing the 1957 Allan Cup-champion Dunlops from a banquet honouring the team and a Maple Leaf Gardens program (VG) from a Nov. 22, 1957 Whitby versus Russia (coached by Tarasov) game. A few other surprises complete this exceptional booty.
