Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Exceptional ticket stub from the historic 2nd game of the 1972 Canada-Russia Series fought at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Following a loss to the Soviets in the first game in Montreal, the boys simply had to win this game to restore confidence in the Canadian people and themselves. In that sense, Game Two was the most important game of the series for Canada. Rare and important stub is in very-good-plus condition with light creasing and some glue residue on the back. Also included are five player sportscards featuring Phil Esposito, Cournoyer, Pete Mahovich, Frank Mahovlich and Yakushev, representing the five goal-scorers from Game Two.
