Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Ultra-intriguing set of sketches and photos of men who governed in Canada from 1608 to 1919 are on paper stock and feature a couple of well-known men whose names continue to live on in the world of sports. Pictures measure 3-3/8" by 4-3/4" and include Lord Frederick Stanley, donator of hockey's most coveted trophy and Lord Albert George Grey, donator of football's Grey Cup. Write-ups on the back are in French as is a cardboard cover card that reads "Galerie Nationale - Les Gouverneurs Generaux Du Canada - 1608-1919." Actually missing #12 to complete a set of 50, they're in splendid crease-free condition with soiling to #s 1-Champlain, 2 and 3 to mention. Indeed a rare find!
