Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Born Frederick Arthur Stanley, Lord Stanley returned to England in 1893 following the death of his elder brother, succeeding him as the 16th Earl of Derby. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the builders category as a member of the inaugural class of 1945. This very scarce vintage stick pin features a portrait of Lord Stanley in profile on its face, with "Earl of Derby" in white lettering across the bottom of the image. This century-old circular pin measures just under 3/4" in diameter and remains in excellent condition overall, with some wear on the metal edge of the face as you would expect from a piece of this vintage. A few rust spots are to note on the reverse. A great way to add an original piece of Lord Stanley memorabilia to your Hall of Fame collection.
