Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Remarkable St. Paul's School hockey player cabinet photo dates from the era when American hockey legend Hobey Baker played at the birthplace of U.S. hockey. The Pennsylvania-born Baker spent two years at the Concord, New Hampshire prep school before entering Princeton in 1910. Terrific view of vintage hockey equipment, including skates, stick, gloves and uniforms, is offered in this individual photo of one of Baker's contemporaries. "George from Jim" is handwritten in the lower right corner of this matte-finish photo, which has been applied to a thick 4 1/8" x 2 5/8" cardboard matte, with "The Kimball Studio, Concord N.H." printed along the bottom. This 100-year-old original studio photo remains in excellent-plus condition.
