A three-time 50-goal scorer with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Rick Vaive amassed the memorabilia collection offered here throughout the 1970s. This lot of 11 items featured Vaive's first hockey jersey as well as 4 trophies he earned while playing minor hockey in Ottawa and 6 QMJHL plaques from his junior days with the Sherbrooke Beavers. His vintage "Capital Jets" knit sweater has remnants of an alternate captain's "A" on the left breast and the outline of a #7 on the back. Four minor hockey trophies date from 1971, '72, '74 and '76, with a "1972 Most Valuable Player M.A.H.A. Pee-Wee Hockey Championship" the largest, standing 14 1/2" tall. Vaive received the six "50-Club" QMJHL plaques included here during his great two-year career in Shebrooke. He scored 51 goals and 110 points in his rookie season with the Beavers, following that up with a 76-goal, 155-point season in 1977-78 before jumping to the WHA's Birmingham Bulls. A pair of LOAs signed by Rick Vaive accompany this remarkable collection.
