Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Worn with pride at a time when future Hall-of-Famer Ted Kennedy was forging his reputation, this killer keepsake dates back to the early- 1940s, the teen-aged Kennedy dreaming of making it to Maple Leaf Gardens and donning Toronto's blue and white. Showing heavy wear, the ring has "PCH" and "S" decipherable on the front, with "Sterling" appearing on the inside of the band. Approximate size is 10, with the band (intentionally) split to enable re-sizing. From the day he witnessed Charlie Conacher live in the 1932 Stanley Cup finals, Kennedy aspired to the NHL and went on to make Port Colborne proud indeed! An LOA from the Kennedy family will be included with this terrific treasure.
