Ken Dryden packed a stunning amount of accomplishments into his brief NHL career and his entry into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983 was a foregone conclusion. This is Dryden's original honoured member glass panel that was displayed at the original Hockey Hall of Fame building on the Canadian National Exhibition grounds in Toronto. From his stunning debut in the 1971 playoffs to his sudden retirement after the Montreal Canadiens' fourth straight championship in 1979, the gentle giant helped lead the Habs to six Stanley Cups in eight seasons. Dryden won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1971 and then went on to win the Calder Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year the following season when he was also named to the Second All-Star team. He also won his first of five Vezina trophies in 1971-72 and would go on to be named to the First All-Star Team five times, including each of his last four seasons. This heavy 17 1/2" square glass panel of half-inch thick glass has "Kenneth Wayne Dryden" printed in black capital letters above his cameo portrait. The bilingual bio at the bottom describes Dryden as "the dominant goaltender of the 1970s", a decade that also saw fellow Hall of Famer goalies Tony Esposito, Bernie Parent, Gerry Cheevers and Vladislav Tretiak compile their best work. The results are hard to argue.
