Classic red durene Montreal Canadiens jersey was worn by smooth skating forward Murray Wilson during his rookie season with the Habs in 1972-73. Murray won the first of his four Stanley Cups in six seasons with Montreal in the spring of 1973 as the Canadiens beat the Chicago Black Hawks in the Cup final for the second time in three years. Murray, who is the older brother of longtime Chicago and San Jose defenceman and current Sharks GM Doug Wilson, made his junior debut with his hometown Ottawa 67s as a 16-year-old. He was chosen 11th overall with Montreal's third pick in the first round of the 1971 draft and won a Calder Cup with Nova Scotia in his first pro season in 1971-72 before graduating to the Canadiens the following season, when he had 18 goals and nine assists for 27 points in 52 regular season games. He added two goals and four assists in 16 playoff games to take part in his first Stanley Cup celebration as the Canadiens rolled over Buffalo, Philadelphia and Chicago on the way to their 18th title. Murray's rookie era Habs road gamer features a red-white-and-blue triple-twill CH logo crest on the front. From Murray Wilson's personal collection, the jersey retains its original Wilson tagging in the neck along with a garter-style fight strap. Game wear is reflected in a team repair on the lower left front, another small sewing fix on the left sleeve, and light stick marks on the lower left front, as well as a two-inch horizontal mark on the right rear hem unrepaired holes on the right front tail, back of the left sleeve toward the cuff, and on the right sleeve just below the shoulder seam. . The tie-neck collar no longer has its original lace. There is a small run in the fabric at the bottom of the six eyelets, which are intact with expected stretching. A crescent-shaped stain appears on the front of the jersey above the upper left side of the team crest and there are also a few small stains on the white collar to note. Murray Wilson's signed letter of authenticity accompanies this remarkable game-worn Montreal Canadiens jersey.
