Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
The one and only Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe became the first NHL player to score 600 goals during the 1965-66 season. Offered here is a beautifully framed 20" x 16" signed picture of Howe brandishing his 600th goal puck and stick in the visitors' dressing room at the Montreal Forum after he beat Hall-of-Famer Gump Worsley in the Red Wings' 3-2 loss to the Canadiens on November 27, 1965. Howe has added his #9 to his blue Sharpie autograph on the front of his white Detroit jersey beneath the team's famed winged wheel crest. This modern print is tastefully displayed in white-black-and-blue matte within a nicely detailed dark wood frame.
