Hall of Fame centre Norm Ullman scored his 500th career goal in 1975 shortly after joining the World Hockey Association (WHA) to play for his hometown Edmonton Oilers. Sitting on a combined total of 490 regular season goals during his NHL career with Detroit and Toronto, Ullman joined the legion of Maple Leafs who parted ways with Harold Ballard and jumped to the rival league during the 1970s. Offered here is Ullman's 500th goal stick, the actual stick that launched the puck that crossed the line for his second goal of the game in a 7-5 win over the Quebec Nordiques at the Edmonton Coliseum on December 10, 1975. The Sherwood PMP gamer is fully taped at the handle and blade, and sports the factory stamped "Ullman" high up on the shaft with the stamped date code "Aug 15 1975" noting the date of manufacture. A plaque attached to the backside of the blade tells the tale: "Norm Ullman, 500th Career Goal, Oilers - WHA". Originally obtained from the collection of early memorabilia collector and Edmonton Oilers team photographer Bob Mummery. Two drilled mount holes from previous display are the only detracting features on this otherwise well-preserved wooden memento. This remarkable and historic milestone 500th goal stick comes with a letter of authenticity.
